Doina Tumbar

Tudorita (Doina) Tumbar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. She received a BS/MS (Diploma) in Biochemistry from University of Bucharest, Romania in 1993. She then moved to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994 and received her Ph.D. in Cell Biology in January 2000. She received a Life Science Research Foundation Post-doctoral Fellowship in 2001 while at University of Chicago, and completed her post-doctoral studies at Rockefeller University in New York City. She joined the Cornell faculty in 2004 where she is now an Associate Professor. He work is trying to elucidate molecular control of epithelial stem cell dynamics in mouse skin.
